Under supervisor or senior technical support direction processes specimens and loads them onto testing instruments; assists in instrument maintenance; processing specimens for confirmatory testing; archiving samples after analysis; responding to inquires from Preanalytical Services; monitors equipment temperature readings; performs a variety of clerical duties and participates in pre-clinical test development, training and ad-hoc projects as directed. Determines suitability of specimens for analysis and if necessary performs pre-analytical processing of the specimens following established guidelines Processes specimens which have been analyzed for outside reference laboratories for additional testing; monitors the progress and transcribes results in laboratory information systems following established procedures.
