The Patient Office Representative II is responsible for the check-in and check- out of patients on behalf of the department as well as other tasks in support of patient care activities, including utilizing telecommunications and computer information systems to create accounts, verify information and insurance, collect co-pays, schedule, and re-schedule complex appointments. City of Hope's growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and treatment facilities in Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix.

The support is accomplished by working with the caregiver to schedule appointments, perform pre-registration and registration of new and existing patients, and providing patients with information regarding access to additional external financial resources. Employees in a FT or PT status (40+ hours per pay period) will also be eligible for paid time off, life insurance, short term and long-term disability and the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) plans and a Health Savings Account (HSA) if a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) is elected.

Position Summary: The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is responsible for scheduling appointments for numerous departments, verifying patient demographics, check-in/out, answering multi-line phones, insurance verification both online & over the phone, and collecting copays and amounts due at appointments, and generating reports in a high volume, high phone call medical office.
