SUMMARY: This position is filled by a registered nurse who, as a result of educational and clinical experience in nursing, possesses the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide nursing care; applies knowledge to act as a change agent, role model and leader; coordinates the care of patients within the patient population; ensures quality focused and cost-effective care delivery outcomes; utilizes theory, research, and specialized knowledge to plan care for the patient; functions within a collaborative practice to enhance quality of care; interprets, evaluates and communicates research findings; and participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Occasionally requires lifting of 50 pounds or more of equipment, able to push in excess of 150 pound wheelchair with patient and equipment, and occasionally lifts patients with assist 125 pounds or more using proper body mechanics.
