Skills in central line and implanted line care, bottle, breast, and gavage feedings, infection prevention, isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE), nasogastric (NG) tube insertion and management, oral and nasal suctioning, oxygen delivery systems, pediatric medical-surgical care, pediatric step-down care, peripheral line care and management, spinal cord injury care, starting and maintaining intravenous (IV) access, and wound assessment and care. Patient conditions may include traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, gunshot wounds, motor vehicle accident injuries, burns, feeding disorders, failure to thrive, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and post-orthopedic surgical needs requiring extensive speech, physical, and occupational therapy.
