In addition, the ideal candidate will mentor junior machinists and apprentices, collaborate effectively with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Production to improve manufacturability, actively support continuous improvement (e.g., 5S and lean practices), and leverage CAM tools such as Mastercam (2020 or higher), Vericut, Catia, and NX to enhance process robustness and repeatability. They will select appropriate turning tooling and work holding (e.g., chucks, collets, bar feeders, sub‑spindle/tailstock), set and verify work and tool offsets, create, adjust, and optimize CNC programs at the machine, and resolve common machining issues to protect quality, schedule, and cost.
