Possible medical emergencies include seizures when no rescue medication is available, head injuries or any loss of consciousness, uncontrolled bleeding, suspected fracture, unresponsive hypoglycemia, anaphylaxis or severe allergic reactions, severe asthma that is not responding to treatment with rescue medication/inhaler. Able to demonstrate knowledge and ability to safely and correctly administer single dose, scheduled medications to students following the 5-R's of administration (Right Patient, Right Medication, Right Dose, Right Time, Right Route).
