The Specialty Pharmacy Technician I at HMH plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and accurate preparation of sterile medications for patients. You will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide sterile compounding services while adhering to strict regulatory guidelines.

This includes: the preparation of medication orders for review by the pharmacist; maintenance of adequate drug supplies in filling areas; and delivery of medications to patient care areas. Performs cart/bin exchanges transferring bulk medications when necessary, returning unused/discontinued IVs/medications, checking dating on multiple dose medications, and replacing medications/supplies when needed. They provide prescription medication services to patients and the local community in a convenient location on the first floor of the hospital, inside the Corner Store Gift Shop at Morristown and behind the coffee shop at Newton adjacent to the main entrance.

You retrieve medication from stock, count and package orders for pharmacist review, maintain clean and well-supplied workstations, support inventory replenishment, and ensure pre-packaged auxiliary items remain at appropriate par levels. You occasionally contact patients for customer service calls and follow up on shipped orders, while working within multiple computer systems to provide accurate medication details and clinical information.
