Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including histories and physical exams.*Supports surgical oncologists in both inpatient and outpatient settings, contributing to improved access, continuity, and outcomes for oncology patients.*On call for practice and ER as needed for the practice.*Independently manages hospital-based care and outpatients.*Has specialized training or practice focused on surgical oncology.*Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with surgical oncologists.*Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging.*Coordinates patient care with other specialties.*Supervises RN and MAs in the treatment of surgical patients.*Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, procedures, and recovery.*Participate in tumor boards, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.*Document all patient interactions and clinical decisions in the electronic medical record (EMR).*Stay current with best practices, emerging therapies, and clinical guidelines through continuing education and training. Requirements*Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program*Washington State Physician Assistant license by the time of employment*DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority*Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association.
