19.00- $23.00 ( $2.00 2nd shift differential) * Basic knowledge of fitting plate, structural material and pipe utilizing shop drawings, specifications and travelers * Use torches to cut/cope beams, cut/bevel plates and heat straighten parts * Knowledge of fitting and welding various materials; carbon steel, stainless steel, inconel and aluminum * Welding processes may include; Flux-cored Arc Welding (FCAW), Metal-cored Arc Welding (MCAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG) and Submerged Arc Weld (SAW) * Perform welding in the flat, horizontal and vertical positions * Produce consistent welds in accordance with shop drawings and customer specifications * Follow welding procedure specifications (WPS) to set up welding machines and check weld sizes with company-issued weld gages * Run overhead cranes and forklifts when necessary to move parts throughout the shop About Us Custom Engineering is a heavy fabrication, welding, and machine shop conveniently located less than a mile off the Bayfront Parkway on McClelland Ave. Our ability to complete complex jobs both long-run and short-run, top-of-the-line machinery, and outstanding quality allow us to serve many industries including oil & gas, construction, mining, transportation, power generation, and entertainment.
