Minimum Qualifications15+ years' experience in design, project management, and construction of dams, levees, flood management systems, and/or hydropower projectsRegistered professional civil engineer in New YorkUnderstanding of regulatory and permitting environment in New York and the surrounding states, including work under the jurisdiction of the NYSDEC, PADEP, VTANR, and other agencies (USACE, FERC, etc.)Strong verbal and written communication skillsValid driver's licensePreferred QualificationsDemonstrated experience pursuing and winning opportunities for water clients in NYStrong reputation in the NY market for dams, levees, flood control structures and/or hydropower servicesDemonstrated experience in water resource engineering with strong analysis and design experience working on large civil works projects such as dams, levees, flood walls, canals, penstocks, and related structures. ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with existing practitioners on the overall strategy and vision to reinforce and expand the Upstate NY Dams PracticePlan, coordinate, direct, and supervise design teams in the inspection, evaluation, and design of water infrastructure projects such as dams, levees, spillways, outlet works, hydroelectric facilities, and other appurtenant structuresProvide technical input and oversight in one or more of the following technical disciplines: civil, structural, geotechnical, water resources, hydrology and hydraulics, mechanicalResolve complex issues to benefit our clientsManage local, regional, and national projectsIdentify, develop, pursue, and win opportunities with new and existing clients within New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, the East region, and nationwideManage project teams often representing multiple services and subconsultants.
