This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.<ul><li>Plans, schedules and conducts lifestyle programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for the residents, including Life Skills and a variety of dementia appropriate activities.</li><li>Plans appropriate programs for holidays and special events.</li><li>Recruits and develops additional resources for services to the residents. Initiates correspondence including public relations communications with outside organizations, service groups and volunteers.</li><li>Advises and motivates residents regarding appropriate individual and group activities based on resident interests and opportunities for growth.</li><li>Prepares and organizes a calendar of events. Submits the calendar to the Executive Director for final approval. Posts and distributes the calendar.</li><li>Assures new residents are acclimated and family communications are timely.</li><li>Prepares and Manages to Celebrations Operating Budget.</li><li>Addresses resident groups and other groups on subjects of common interest.</li><li>Maintains a database and prepares reports on resident quality assurance assessments, participation and satisfaction.</li><li>May supervise additional Celebrations staff in the assisted living community.</li><li>Participates in community in-services.</li><li>Demonstrates competence in Federal, State and Local regulations assisted living as applicable; ensures compliance.</li><li>Develops, facilitates and analyzes resident surveys to determine ongoing activities are in place that meet the resident interests.</li><li>Plans, coordinates and facilitates appropriate mixed group activities.</li><li>Develops and facilitates daily displays of activities on bulletin boards and/or kiosks in lobbies, elevators, dining rooms and other resident and team member communication centers.</li><li>Maintains a robust public relations program in support of the activities programming and community relations.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESDirectly supervises employees in the Celebrations Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Educational Requirements and Experience:<ul><li>Associate degree in Recreation, Education, Gerontology, Social Work, Adult Education or related preferred.</li><li>Three to five years related experience.</li><li>Two years supervisory/management experience.</li></ul>ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY<ul><li>Works primarily indoors in a climate controlled setting</li><li>Possible exposure to chemicals as identified in the MSDS Manual</li></ul>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The Team Member must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60-70 pounds. Must be able to conduct full exercise program that consists of low impact aerobics in and outside the water. These exercises include bending, twisting, repetitive movement of arms, legs and torso, which significantly increase heart rate and test endurance. Must be able to be on his/her feet 2-6 hours a day. Pottawattamie County Conservation is announcing the hiring of a Seasonal Park Ranger/Intern for Arrowhead Park, located in Neola, Iowa!  An individual in this position is responsible for assisting Park Rangers with the management of assigned County parks and/or properties in accordance with Conservation Board policies, state laws, and standard conservation practices. This position will assist Park Rangers at Arrowhead Park.  This position operates from mid-May through mid-September, schedule permitting. Pottawattamie County Conservation is committed to helping grow the next generation of natural resources leaders.
