Skills required include cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, telemetry monitoring, IV therapy including central/peripheral/PICC line care, blood product administration, heparin protocol management, cardiac and vasoactive drip management without titration, PCA management, feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis management, chest tube management, CPAP/BiPAP and high flow nasal cannula use, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac. Care for patients with conditions such as AMI, cardiac arrhythmia, heart failure, chest pain, vascular/PVD, sepsis/infection, pneumonia, ETOH withdrawal, suicidal ideation, GI bleed, and pre/post cath patients including femoral line/groin site management.
