Must possess mobility to work in the field; to sit, stand, and walk on level, uneven, or slippery surfaces; frequently reach, twist, turn, kneel, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, grasp and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to operate varied hand and power tools and construction equipment; strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work, to work in confining spaces and around machines; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone or radio. Under general direction, plans, schedules, assigns, reviews, and supervises the work of staff performing repair and maintenance service duties within the maintenance and operations division of the Public Works Department; inspects work in progress and completed; performs a variety of technical tasks relative to the assigned functional area; provides complex staff assistance to management staff in areas of expertise; and performs related duties as assigned.
