Unit: 30-bed (can flex to 37 beds) mixed surgical unit Patient Population: general surgery, trauma, minor ortho cases; post-op and post-trauma patients; Average LOS: ~4 days; dayshift can expect 1 2 patient turnover per nurse per day Equipment/Skills: Alaris pumps, Hercules beds, BiPAP, CPAP, trachs, chest tubes, tube feeds (Kangaroo pumps); dysrhythmia interpretation required; remote MS/Tele, CAPD preferred Support Staff: monitor techs (read/interpret telemetry strips), phlebotomy, 1 2 CNAs per shift, sitters, charge nurses, and a rapid response team Floating: Required to float to other Med/Surg units as needed Ratio: 1:5 6* Ratios are subject to change based on facility needs and are not guaranteed.
