 The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling radiology procedures, including interventional and diagnostic imaging services. This role ensures efficient patient flow by collaborating with physicians, clinical staff, and patients to arrange procedures, verify requirements, and provide clear instructions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities ·  Coordinate procedure dates and times with physicians, radiologists, patients, and clinical staff.  ·  Verify physician orders for accuracy and completeness before scheduling.  ·  Obtain and confirm insurance pre-authorizations and referrals as required.  ·  Communicate preparation instructions, procedure details, and appointment expectations to patients.  ·  Ensure all required documentation (labs, imaging, history, consent forms) is received prior to the procedure.  ·  Maintain and update scheduling systems and patient records accurately.  ·  Reschedule appointments as necessary and manage cancellations efficiently.  ·  Coordinate with other departments (e.g., nursing, anesthesia, labs) to ensure readiness for procedures.  ·  Answer patient inquiries regarding procedures, scheduling, and preparation.  ·  Monitor daily and future schedules to optimize workflow and minimize gaps or delays.  ·  Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards. Qualifications Required ·  High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or healthcare-related training preferred.  ·  1–3 years of scheduling experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in radiology or surgical services.  ·  Knowledge of medical terminology, especially related to radiology procedures. Preferred ·  Experience with radiology scheduling software or PACS/RIS systems.  ·  Certification in medical administration or healthcare support (e.g., CMAA).  ·  Familiarity with interventional radiology workflows. Skills & Competencies ·  Strong organizational and multitasking skills.  ·  Excellent communication and customer service abilities.  ·  Attention to detail and accuracy.  ·  Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.  ·  Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling systems.  ·  Basic understanding of insurance verification and authorization processes. Job Summary: Establish and monitor the production schedules for the facility to achieve customer requirements. Manages day-to-day scheduling department functions and staff.Duties and Responsibilities: <ul><li>Acts as primary contact with sales, manufacturing, and logistics, determining resource constraints, and developing plans to achieve customers' needs.</li><li>Enters specific sales orders into the master schedule based on requested customer delivery dates, availability of raw materials, and equipment.</li><li>Maintains the master production schedule for the facility, reviewing daily to adjust for changes in customer requirements, delay in receiving raw materials, availability of production changes in customer requirements, delay in receiving raw materials, availability of production equipment, etc. Advises appropriate personnel of changes in the schedule.</li><li>Leads weekly production planning meeting that includes representatives from production, shipping, customer service, and purchasing departments.</li><li>Reviews monthly marketing forecasts and adjusts master schedules accordingly.</li><li>Manages scheduling department staff. Responsible for Performance Management, including selection, training, employee development, performance reviews, cross training, and disciplinary action.</li><li>Maintains department metrics related to departmental performance.</li><li>Once employee demonstrates competency in position, he/she may be required to train others in similar roles.</li></ul>Skills:<ul><li>Extensive hands-on experience with a computerized production planning system (MRP system). </li><li>Ability to analyze situations and react in a timely manner necessary. Strong project management skills required. </li><li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required. Excellent follow-up skills required. </li><li>Ability to juggle multiple tasks with minimal supervision and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Ability to independently solve problems and make recommendations. </li><li>Above average communication skills required. </li><li>Ability to communicate verbally and in written format.</li></ul>Experience/Education: <ul><li>4 year / Bachelors Degree preferred. </li><li>Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) preferred.</li><li>5-10 years of production planning/materials control in a manufacturing environment is required.</li></ul>Physical Demands/Work Environment: <ul><li>Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required throughout the workday to sit.
