General Summary This position is responsible for developing accurate and timely proposals and estimates for both private and public sector works projects from $50 to $100 million to ensure Granite is a responsive bidder. Projects include structures, sound barriers and bridges, as well as underground work such as waterlines, sewer lines, storm drains, and dry utilities. This role will support a region that covers the Inland Empire, High Desert, and Coachella Valley and specializes in highways, roads, rail, infrastructure, utilities and small buildings. Essential Job Accountabilities <ul><li>Comprehend and administer a safety program that provides for a safe work environment that meets or exceeds Granite's Annual Incident Goal, and foster a culture that expects participation at all levels. </li><li>Create and promote, in his/her organization, the ability to recognize and understand the appropriate environmental policies, rules, and the potential adverse affects to the environment due to operations, and take steps necessary to comply with policy/rules, and mitigate the effects of operations. </li><li>Create and/or foster a quality culture that recognizes the affect of quality on all operations, and takes steps necessary to provide a product or service that is a source of pride for our workers, and pleasing to our customers. </li><li>Analyze and compile estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location and other factors to ensure a high quality and timely estimate. </li><li>Review drawings, specifications and proposed project site conditions; record findings and solicit input from field operations to include in final project estimate. </li><li>Analyze alternative solutions and construction methods to increase competitiveness of the bid. </li><li>Review "take-off" quantities to ensure accuracy of data used in estimates. </li><li>Utilize existing cost history as a check to complete estimate. </li><li>Apply mathematical calculations requiring advanced analytical processes to ensure logically estimated costs are accurate. </li><li>Present estimate and participate in bid reviews with senior management to ensure accuracy and completeness. </li><li>Communicate with owners, subcontractors, public and private entities to ensure competitiveness. </li><li>Communicate estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to ensure understanding of scope of job and critical means and methods of construction. </li><li>Develop and maintain business relationships to increase bid opportunities in the regional market. </li><li>Supervise, direct, and mentor estimating staff to ensure individual development and Granite standards are met. </li><li>Participate in and/or lead Design-build preconstruction services to ensure a high quality, competitive estimates and schedules. </li><li>Participate in and/or lead means and method discussions, being the catalyst to drive creative thinking and innovative ideas that distinguishes a successful estimate. </li></ul> Education <ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent related work experience. </li></ul> Work Experience <ul><li>10+ years estimating experience including heavy civil structures, sound barriers and bridges, as well as underground work such as waterlines, sewer lines, storm drains, and dry utilities. </li><li>Prior management experience required. </li></ul> Knowledge, skills, and abilities <ul><li>Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AGTEK Take-off and Primavera P6 or other scheduling software. </li><li>Advanced knowledge of HCSS HeavyBid estimating software. </li><li>Advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles. </li><li>Advanced knowledge of construction principles and equipment capabilities. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. </li><li>Advanced knowledge of agency DBE requirements. </li></ul> Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
 
**Class Instruction**
 
* Coach pre-choreographed or freestyle group sessions and classes to a wide variety of members at varying fitness levels in person or via virtual technology.
 
* Present group sessions and classes in a way that makes members feel welcomed, encouraged and challenged.
 
* Ensure group sessions and classes are delivered with high quality and safe for all fitness levels by educating members on safe techniques and guidelines.
 
* Increase member attendance through strong teaching skills and ability to connect with and motivate others.
 

 
* Must maintain an average of Coaching at least 2 classes per week
 

 
**Customer Service**
 
* Deliver exceptional customer services for members and guests through positive interactions before and after group session or class.
 
* Handle member concerns or direct to appropriate club management.
 
* Report broken equipment and maintenance needs to club management.
 
* Recruits new members to join classes.
 
* Start and finish group session and class on time as scheduled.
 
* Deliver on the Service Promise of Clean, Friendly and Well Maintained Club by organizing equipment and assisting with maintaining a clean and organized club.
 

 
**Administrative**
 
* Find appropriate substitutes for group session or class coverage by following company policy and guidelines.
 
* Maintain a strong social media presence to attract new participants to class, special events, etc.
 
* Attend staff meetings on occasion as required.
 

 
**ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS**
 
This position reports to the General Manager and interacts with all club staff, members and guests.
 

 
**QUALIFICATIONS**

* Knowledge of safe exercise techniques and principles.
 
* Strong communication skills and ability to connect with a wide variety of people.
 
* Enthusiastic and energetic approach to creating a community feel within a group session or class.

**Minimum Educational Level/Certifications**
 
* Current approved group exercise primary certification for taught format.
 
* High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
 
**Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications**
 
* Previous group exercise instruction experience is preferred.
 
**Physical Demands/ Environmental Conditions**
 
* Physical effort required for daily duties includes lifting weights, squatting, bending, reaching, hopping, jumping, kicking and prolonged standing and walking.
 
**Working Environment**
 
* While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
 
* The noise level in the environment is occasionally loud.
 
* Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed to support the business.
