The Planning and Capital Projects team is responsible for the improvement of approximately 200 public parks and an ever-expanding network of greenway trails, community and aquatic centers, art centers, athletic facilities, historic properties, playgrounds, lakes, nature preserves, and open spaces. During planning and design, select and execute contracts with design and engineering consultants, review project proposals, drawings, specifications, construction cost estimates, schedules, and other technical documents; evaluate existing conditions; guide scope, layout, materials, and design decisions; and coordinate the City review and permit approval process.
