The AME will design and/or review technical requirements and identify/define appropriate manufacturing processes, influence alternative designs from a manufacturing capability perspective utilizing DFMA (design for manufacturing/assembly), process quality planning (PFMEA, control plans, SPC, etc.) and lean design and manufacturing principles, and review designs for all new purchased parts. Experience with lean principles and techniques to include Mistake Proofing, Visual Management, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Cycle Time Reduction and Process Balancing, Yokoten, 5S, Set Up Reduction (SMED), and Kanban.
