<h2>Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer (E4/E5) </h2>Company: System One Location: Remote or Onsite (Naperville, IL | Atlanta, GA | Ridgeland, MS) Position Type: Long-Term Contract<h2>Position Overview</h2>System One is seeking a Senior or Specialist Mechanical Engineer (E4/E5) to support design modification packages for mechanical systems and components in nuclear power plants. This role is part of a growing engineering team focused on delivering high-quality solutions for complex nuclear projects.The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in mechanical system design, along with the ability to lead projects, review complex calculations, and mentor junior engineers.<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Develop and support engineering design modification packages for nuclear plant systems</li><li>Perform and review complex calculations and design deliverables</li><li>Analyze mechanical and electromechanical systems using principles of: <ul><li>Mechanics</li><li>Thermodynamics</li><li>Hydraulics</li><li>Heat transfer</li><li>Materials science</li></ul></li><li>Establish performance specifications for systems, components, and equipment</li><li>Lead investigations, system studies, and technical evaluations</li><li>Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers</li><li>Serve as technical lead on complex projects or lead small-to-medium projects</li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to determine priorities and project impacts</li><li>Interface directly with clients to define scope, methodology, and deliverables</li><li>Support engineering change processes and ensure compliance with nuclear standards</li><li>Participate in plant walkdowns, technical discussions, and client presentations</li></ul><h2>Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program</li><li>8–10+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience</li><li>Strong knowledge of: <ul><li>Mechanical system design in nuclear power plants</li><li>Applicable codes, standards, and regulations</li><li>Nuclear Quality Assurance standards</li></ul></li><li>Experience supporting engineering change control processes in nuclear environments</li><li>Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure</li><li>Proven ability to collaborate across teams and build client relationships</li></ul><h2>Additional Requirements</h2><ul><li>Ability to travel occasionally for plant walkdowns, client meetings, and presentations</li><li>Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship</li></ul>System One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
