This role also supports material processing by identifying, inspecting, and sorting metals to ensure quality and operational efficiency, while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.<br/><br/></div><div><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></div><ul><li>Safely load, unload, move, stack, and stage materials using a forklift.</li><li>Transport materials throughout the yard as directed.</li><li>Assist in identifying and sorting various metals (aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, steel, etc.) by grade.</li><li>Inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet company and customer specifications.</li><li>Use basic hand tools, magnets, and testing equipment to determine metal type and quality.</li><li>Place graded materials in designated bins, containers, or storage areas.</li><li>Assist equipment operators with loading and unloading materials.</li><li>Perform routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.</li><li>Report equipment defects, damage, unsafe conditions, or repair needs to a supervisor.</li><li>Keep equipment clean and in proper working condition.</li><li>Assist with the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices as needed.</li><li>Follow all company safety procedures, security standards, and wear required PPE.</li><li>Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.</li></ul><div><br/></div><div><strong>Qualifications:</strong></div><ul><li>Experience: 1–2 years of forklift operating experience preferred.</li><li>Certification: Ability to obtain forklift certification.</li><li>Knowledge of scrap metal grading or recycling operations preferred.</li><li>Ability to use basic tools and testing equipment to identify metal types.</li><li>Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry materials weighing 40–50 pounds.</li><li>Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.</li><li>Previous production, warehouse, recycling, or manufacturing experience is a plus.</li><li>Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.</li></ul><br/><br/><strong>About Geomet Recycling:</strong><p>Who is GEOMET Recycling?Our mission is to provide quality metal recycling processing and consolidation services to independent and industrial clients.
