ADVOCACY RESPONSIBILITIES: Recruit, educate, train, and lead Smoke-Free Marin Coalition in assisting or implementing program activities including, but not limited to, policy development, conducting Secondhand Smoke (SHS) outreach and education on SHS complaints, diversity outreach and education; Work with members to plan, organize, and facilitate regular coalition meetings and organize; Build leadership and organizing capacity of Marin County residents and community groups, to effectively drive and shape systemic change; Develop fact sheets and public information media reports, creating and educating advocates with information kits for minimum price objective and multi-unit housing objective and meeting with community groups to educate on issues Accelerates and monitors the Smoke-Free Marin Coalition's Endgame Objectives Schedules Coalition meetings via Zoom and manage communication for the Smoke-Free Marin Coalition Prepare Coalition members to members for public speaking, media interviews and public comment at city meetings; Provide educational letter writing and property management educational support to help implement smoke-free housing ordinances; Maintains Coalition website, posts updates on Facebook, occasional PSA's on local television stations, and develops e-newsletter updates for coalition members each month Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community members, community-based orgs, government organizations, and other coalitions; Gather community-based data, increasing opportunities for community input; ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES. The purpose of the coalition is to collaborate with the community to develop systems, change messaging and settings, advocate for policies lessen the predatory tactics of tobacco companies, reduce exposure to second and thirdhand smoke, prevent tobacco use young people, and create a healthy, safe environment for residents of Marin County.
