Treats patients individually or in groups utilizing accepted occupational therapy methods, modalities, and procedures such as range of motion exercises, strengthening, fine motor coordination, perceptual motor and sensory integrative activities, cognitive skills and retraining, Activities of Daily Living-self-care (ADL) and daily living skills training, orthotic fabrication (making splints), and psychosocial skills. Partnering with the University of Maryland School of Medicine, University of Maryland School of Nursing, and University of Maryland, Baltimore, who educate the state's future healthcare professionals, UMMS is an integrated network of care, delivering 25 percent of all hospital care in urban, suburban, and rural communities across the state of Maryland.
