As a Principal Health Care Statistician, you will be responsible for using data to uncover insights and patterns in complex data, answer questions, and solve problems. You will apply robust knowledge of statistics and research methods to large data sets and varied types of structured and unstructured data to develop insights and distill them into readily consumable formats and visualizations. The statistician will work closely with data engineers, data analysts, researchers, clinicians, and other internal stakeholders. Duties include but are not limited to:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.Extract, clean, and preprocess large datasets to prepare them for analysis, ensuring accuracy and integrity.Write, test, review, and maintain SAS programs to extract, transform, and manipulate data in structured and unstructured datasets.Document solutions, processes, and methodologies for consistency and scalability.This position is office based at our Beachwood, Ohio building.Qualifications:Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.Strong working knowledge of medical claims and eligibility data.Strong knowledge of applied statistics and ability to identify appropriate statistical methods for different problems and contexts.Proficiency in writing and testing SAS programs to extract, validate, transform, and analyze large complex datasets. Education & Experience:Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field, required.Minimum of five (5) years of experience with complex statistical analysis, statistical programming, sampling methodologies, etc., required. A minimum of five (5) years of experience working in healthcare-related contexts (payer or provider) required. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP a plus. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. The annualized salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $120,000.00. Actual salary range and/or hourly rate depends on a variety of factors including experience, education, credentials, location, and budget.The salary range and/or hourly rate listed does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESJob DescriptionResponsibilities:<ul><li>Responsible for data management, analysis, and reporting for Medline research and outcomes monitoring data, including from clinical trials, research & development, post-market, and value-based care partnerships. Assist with the implementation of statistical and analytical design.</li><li>Examine theories, such as those related to probability and inference in order to discover mathematical bases for new or improved methods of obtaining and evaluating numerical data.</li><li>Use a variety of statistical and analytics software, methods, and techniques to gather, analyze, and interpret research and health outcomes data to derive and present useful information; Lead in the development and conclusions, as appropriate.</li><li>Generate statistical analysis plan (SAP) including sample size calculations and randomization schedules, compile and clean raw data, conduct appropriate analysis per the SAP and interpret and present results</li><li>Build and sustain collaborative relationships with individuals in different disciplines and serves as subject-matter expert for research teams, internal and external clinical teams, and other collaborators.</li><li>Write results and review sections of Clinical Study Reports (CSRs) to ensure data integrity.</li><li>Research literature to find answers to statistical questions and remain current on statistical methods and best practices.</li><li>Maintain the data management system for clinical studies and ensure that is Part 11 compliant.</li><li>Provide project oversight, training, and coaching.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Statistics or related field required.</li><li>At least 4 years of experience conducting statistical tests (i.e. T-tests, ANOVAS, Linear Regression) for the purposes of hypothesis testing.</li><li>Experience with SAS (Statistical Analysis Software) and/or power analysis software (e.g. PASS, G*Power).</li><li>Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.</li><li>Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.</li><li>Experience working with cross-functional teams and facilitating teams to identify and implement solutions to complex problems.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Master's or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics or related field.
