<h2><strong>About Alma</strong></h2><p>Alma del Mar is a K-8 charter school whose mission is to put every one of our scholars on the <strong>path to college</strong> and to challenge them to be <strong>service-minded leaders</strong>. In some areas, our scholar achievement now matches some of the highest performing schools in the Commonwealth.  We have been nationally recognized for our work with English Language Learners.</p><h1><strong>Registered Nurse Role</strong> </h1><p>Nurses are an integral part of our medical office staff.  The Part time Nurse will support our medical offices and ensure that our scholars' health needs are met. </p><p>The primary duties of this role include but are not limited to:</p><ul><li>Monitor students or staff who are ill</li><li>Supervise prescribed medical treatments and medication administration in accordance with all regulations.</li><li>Update medical and vaccination records </li><li>Run a school medical office independently.  </li><li>Administer first aid as needed </li><li>Participate in emergency services for students and staff in the event of sudden illness or injury. </li><li>Join the larger staff for professional development as needed </li><li>Provide assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, management, and referral for appropriate medical care of students with acute or chronic health conditions.</li><li>Conduct vision and hearing screenings; coordinate dental screenings.</li><li>Participate in the development of IEPs and 504 plans to address individual needs </li><li>Prepare health reports for Nurse Leader, Department of Education and Department of Public Health.</li></ul><h2><strong>Who We're Looking For</strong></h2><p>We seek outstanding people with the following qualifications:</p><ul><li>Must hold a current, valid Registered Nurse License in Massachusetts</li><li>Experience working with children and families in a school or community setting preferred </li><li>CPR Certified  </li><li>Humility, resilience, and a hunger to learn and grow</li><li>Strong team orientation</li><li>Infectious joy</li><li>Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. </li></ul><h2><strong>What You Can Expect</strong></h2><ul><li>Meetings with a manager who supports you</li><li>A strong benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, retirement matching and paid parental leave</li><li>Fully stocked supply closets </li><li>Friendly, supportive, #almazing colleagues </li></ul><p>This is an academic year position with July off.  School hours are 8:25-4:00 for staff.  This position will be scheduled for a consistent 2 days a week.<br/></p><p><strong>Compensation: </strong>Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.  Starting hourly rate for an RN is $35. </p><p>Alma del Mar is an equal opportunity employer and an organization that values diversity.
