Testing and eligible list: Depending on the number of qualified applications received, testing may consist of a highly qualified review, supplemental application screening, online assessment, skills testing, practical/performance test, written or oral examination or any combination of these exams to determine which candidates names may be placed on the eligible list. The successful candidate should be service-oriented, possess knowledge of basic office practices and business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation; have strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to read and understand laws, rules, and Sheriffs Office policies and procedures; and carry out instructions, analyze situations and determine appropriate responses.
