Overview:
Kimley-Horn's Reston, VA office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Aviation team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Prepare analysis reports in support of airport planning, design, and construction</li><li>In addition to strong technical experience, other responsibilities will include managing project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and coordinating work with other team members</li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects</li><li>Maintaining a high degree of quality sets of plans along with checking the work of others</li><li>Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules</li><li>This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects</li><li>You will flourish on both building meaningful internal and external professional relationships</li><li>You will work closely and collaboratively with other industry leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors</li></ul>

Qualifications:
<ul><li>4+ years of aviation engineering design experience</li><li>Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)</li><li>Familiarity with contract document preparation and cost estimating</li><li>Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circular’s and Engineering Briefs</li><li>Familiarity with pavement design and FAAR Field Design Software</li><li>Strong desire and passion to be engaged with clients solving project problems and working with the team to deliver</li><li>Strong AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation experience</li><li>Ability to work in a team; both collaborating with and mentoring junior staff</li><li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills</li><li>Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines </li></ul>
