Long Term Care & Treatment (LTCT) provides comprehensive PreK–Grade 12 education within day treatment and residential settings, partnering with behavioral health providers and school districts to ensure continuity of instruction and student- centered transitions. The Student Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting students as they engage in education during residential or treatment placement and as they prepare to transition back to their home districts.

Long Term Care & Treatment (LTCT) provides comprehensive PreK–Grade 12 education within day treatment and residential settings, partnering with behavioral health providers and school districts to ensure continuity of instruction and student- centered transitions.The Student Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting students as they engage in education during residential or treatment placement and as they prepare to transition back to their home districts. This position requires flexibility, strong organizational systems, and the ability to step into instructional, relational, and supervisory duties seamlessly.The role is designed to flex based on candidate strengths and program needs, with substitute teaching capability prioritized when licensure is held or obtained.LTCT operates through five core pillars:<ul><li style="text-align:left"> Relational Foundations for Engagement</li><li style="text-align:left"> Supporting Self-Regulation & Readiness to Learn</li><li style="text-align:left"> Collaborative & Trauma-Informed Practice between School and Behavioral Health Providers</li><li style="text-align:left"> Academic Ownership & Goal Progress</li><li style="text-align:left"> Reflective Data Habits & Iterative Improvement</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONS  Required:1.       High school diploma or equivalent.2.       Two years of successful experience in education, behavioral health, or a related field.3.       Demonstrated ability to utilize word processing, student information systems, and database/spreadsheet software with accuracy.4.       Strong oral and written communication skills.5.       Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.6.       Such alternatives to certain above qualifications may apply as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent and/or Board of Directors.Preferred: 1.       Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field.2.       Eligibility for or ability to obtain the possession of an Oregon Substitute Teaching License (TSPC).3.       Experience supporting students with mental and behavioral health needs.4.       Knowledge of IEP/504 processes and student records management.5.       Bilingual oral and written communication skills.GENERAL INFORMATION  This position has the following expectations and prerequisite abilities.1.       Promotion of equity and diversity in all settings and understanding and commitment to anti-racists principles.2.       Maintain a high level of confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA and adherence to the competent and ethical educator practices.3.       Maintain compliance with state and federal laws governing all aspects of our agency including ORS, OAR, IDEA, FOIA, and CIPA.4.       Exceptional prioritization of tasks, timely completion of work assignments, ability to take the initiative and work independently with minimal supervision.5.       Demonstrates respectful, flexible and effective teambuilding skills of cooperation, communication and active participation.6.       Present self and LBL in a professional manner including: in oral and written communication, professional disposition when working with others and maintaining professional dress standards.7.       Ability to understand and follow oral and written directives, find requested data and present in user-friendly formats for internal and public distribution.8.       Maintain regular attendance at work. Be punctual in meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and following schedules.9.       Utilize digital learning and communications platforms to provide services to educators, students and district staff as directed.10.    Ability to lift, carry at least 25 pounds.11.    Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a vehicle or work setting.12.    Demonstrate relational foundations aligned to the LTCT pillar practices above.13.    Ability to collaborate with educators, behavioral health providers, and multidisciplinary teams.14.    Ability to work flexibly across classrooms, cottages, and program environments.15.    Ability to safely maneuver within dynamic and unpredictable environments.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  This is not necessarily an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, and duties associated with this position.
