Industry certification where applicable in the subject matter taught is recommended.We are currently seeking those who are qualified to teach in the following areas:<ul><li>Medical Office Assistant (Physicians office)</li><li>Medical Coding and Billing (Physicians office and/or hospital)</li><li>Clinical Medical Assistant (Physicians Office)</li><li>Phlebotomy Technician (Didactic lecture, online/classroom, and hands-on lab skills)</li><li>EKG Technician (Didactic lecture, online/classroom, and hands-on lab skills)</li><li>Ophthalmic Technician (Didactic lecture, online/classroom, and hands-on lab skills)</li><li>EMT Basic (Didactic lecture, online/classroom, and hands-on lab skills)</li><li>Personal Care Aide (Didactic lecture, online/classroom, and hands-on lab skills)</li><li>Health Care Orientation (3-hour industry overview class online)</li><li>Ultrasound Technician (Didactic lecture, online/classroom, hands-on lab skills, clinical externship)</li><li>CPR Instructor (Classroom and hands-on lab skills)</li><li>First Aid Instructor (Classroom and hands-on lab skills)</li><li>Doula Instructor (Online/classroom and hands-on lab skills)</li></ul>Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in the designated discipline/field of study to students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. We are seeking someone who is able to teach as a Workforce Instructor in Healthcare Adjunct both in-person and online.Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during summer session. Teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty contract contains no expectation or guarantee of continued employment.This position is located in Virginia. Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to ensure consistent, reliable attendance.Duties and Tasks<ul><li>Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.</li><li>Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.</li><li>Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.</li><li>Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of GCC and the VCCS.</li><li>Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.</li></ul>Essential Functions
