In addition to shadowing staff on a variety of tasks, students participating in the apprentice program may perform a range of non-skilled tasks such as data entry and some routine maintenance functions.What you'll doEssential FunctionsParticipates in the observation and/or job shadowing of a licensed Operator as they perform of the following responsibilities for educational purposes: <ul><li>Operation and maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment equipment, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.</li><li>Complete various water and/or wastewater treatment processes in line with Company guidelines and governmental controls.</li><li>Prepare reports and maintain logs on meter readings, tests, chemical and equipment usage, and all other record keeping requirements per Company policies and state requirements.</li><li>Testing, maintenance and installation of water meters.</li><li>Response to customer inquiries regarding meter reading, billing, and other customer service related matters.</li><li>Performance of the following tasks as needed:</li><li>Maintains grounds in clean and orderly manner.</li><li>Cleaning and maintenance of treatment plant, pumping stations and wells; prepare and paid equipment, walls and floors.</li><li>Complete data entry or technology-based work on an ad hoc basis.</li></ul> Additional Responsibilities <ul><li>Follow established safety policies and procedures to ensure safe work environment.</li><li>Remove trash and debris from grounds.</li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li></ul> What you bringExperience and Education <ul><li>Must be a full-time Junior or Senior in High School, participating in a work study program or a college student looking for summer internship</li></ul> Certifications/Licenses <ul><li>Must maintain a valid driver's license</li></ul> Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities <ul><li>Ability to work in different weather conditions with exposure to the elements.</li><li>Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.</li><li>Ability to frequently perform moderate to heavy physical demands, including lifting (75 lbs.), walking (10+ miles daily), climbing and mechanical repair.</li><li>Ability to work in all weather conditions: rain, snow, extreme heat and cold, etc; may encounter various potential hazards.</li><li>Familiarity with computer applications MS Word, Excel and utilizing tablet and mobile device; ability to learn internal software programs .Ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools and/or materials used in performing essential functions.</li></ul> Please note: <ul><li>This is a part-time work study position. Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Applies ALARA principles to maintain established radiation safety standards that involve practicing techniques that will minimize radiation exposure to patient, health care personnel, self and general public, through consistently using protective devices, shields, dose reduction, and monitors; determines appropriate exposure factors.</li><li>Collaborates patient’s clinical history with procedure, ensuring that information is documented and available for use by a licensed independent practitioner. Adheres to HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality.</li><li>Performs routine diagnostic imaging procedures through technical expertise of equipment and procedure protocols as ordered by a licensed independent practitioner. May transport patients.</li><li>Assists in other areas of imaging as needed.</li><li>Practices aseptic technique and applies universal precautions at all times. Applies appropriate infection prevention techniques and processes.</li><li>Assumes responsibility for patient needs during procedures; proactively assists patients, families, licensed independent practitioners and visitors as needed.</li><li>Applies the principle of patient safety during all aspects of radiographic procedures, including double IDs, falls, transports, and hand washing.</li><li>Proficient with all clerical duties, radiology information systems, and PACS.</li><li>Assists in the care of equipment. Maintains supply levels. Cleans area.</li><li> Stays current in Basic Life Support (BLS) and performs BLS as needed.</li><li>Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually.
