The Dean of Students will assist with administrative responsibilities that strengthen and expand the breadth of support to students, teachers, and parents. The usual job demands requires the following physical requirements: some lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, some stooping, kneeling, and physical dexterity.

Reports To:Principal, Middle/High School Supervisor, Director of Schools Qualifications:BS Degree and Endorsement in Education Degree and Endorsement in Administration and Supervision  Purpose Statement: The Dean of Students is an educational leader who works collaboratively with the school administrative team as the primary support for student attendance and discipline.  The Dean of Students will assist with administrative responsibilities that strengthen and expand the breadth of support to students, teachers, and parents.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: <ul><li>Primary contact for student discipline</li><li>Primary contact for student attendance</li><li>Adheres to and enforces board policy, school guidelines, administrative directives, and district standards </li><li>Enforces guidelines to maintain proper discipline and conduct </li><li>Communicates relevant policies and procedures with regard to student discipline, conduct, and attendance to students, staff, and parents </li><li>Works with and assists faculty in the development of effective classroom discipline and organization </li><li>Maintains an effective and safe school environment </li><li>Assists Building Principal with emergency drills on a regular basis and is able to implement emergency evacuations and lockdowns effectively </li><li>Prepares required reports and paperwork </li><li>Supervises and evaluates certified staff as assigned </li><li>Supervises support services as assigned </li><li>Works as a team member to meet the system-wide needs of the district </li><li>Assists in supervision of special events </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Principal or District Supervisor </li></ul><ul><li>Model and encourage a culture of kindness, integrity, and positivity. </li><li>Communicate promptly, clearly, and effectively with teachers, students, and parents </li></ul>Capacity and Ability Requirements:            The usual job demands requires the following physical requirements: some lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, some stooping, kneeling, and physical dexterity.Terms of Employment:            Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District’s approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the District.   Evaluation:            Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
