The purpose for an operator at this level is to learn and train on the basic understandings of all calibration specific operations. Mechanical Manufacturing Technician is expected to have the basic level ability to prepare and assemble components to develop final or sub-assemblies with direct supervision by a certified calibrator (level II or above). The operator will set up and operate production equipment to ensure flow, spray angle, and quality of spray meets product specifications and tolerance levels. The operator is expected to follow established standard work under general supervision in efforts to obtain certification. The operator will typically refer problems or deviations to more experienced operators including Lead Technicians, supervisors, or engineers.External applicants are eligible for a $1,000 sign on bonus.What You Will Do<ul><li>Learn how to set up and operate test stand to check nozzles, spray bars, and valves for spray quality, angle, and flow according to specifications.</li><li>Learn how to set up and operate laser marker and printer according to procedures and specifications.</li><li>Learn how to record spray parameters by serial number. Job Summary:<ul><li>Safely handle and maneuver tractor/trailers and other large equipment to facilitate the loading and unloading operations in the yard</li><li>Properly cube, load and unload freight using a forklift, pallet jack, hand truck or by hand</li><li>Strap, brace and secure freight to prevent damage or shifting</li><li>Responsible for accurately recording the condition of freight as it arrives at the service center</li><li>Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of the yard and dock equipment</li><li>Accurately set up, break down and hook trailers safely</li><li>Ensure all pup trailers have tilt bar to be lowered prior to loading of freight</li><li>Raise and lower landing gear</li><li>Monitor yard for unsafe drivers and non-employees; report to management</li><li>Work in outdoor weather conditions</li><li>Promptly report all maintenance problems to Fleet Services and/or supervision</li><li>Work the dock a minimum of five hours per week in addition to work in the yard as a jockey/hostler</li><li>Scan the Kronos clock and indicate dock versus jockey time for tracking purposes</li><li>Regular attendance is required.</li><li>This is not an all-inclusive list of job requirements and/or duties and may not contain all mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform the job at all times due to circumstances.
