Their typical duties include leading the coordination of undergraduate and graduate recruitment initiatives; conducting information sessions, interviews, and counseling sessions with prospective students and their parents; providing guidance to prospective applicants on program requirements and required documents, admission, and university procedures; utilizing pre-enrollment databases for admission status verification and outreach; traveling to recruitment events at college fairs, career fairs, social work conferences, and community colleges. Primary Purpose: The Student Recruiter at Virginia Commonwealth University's (VCU) School of Social Work (SSW) will work closely with the Senior Student Recruitment Specialist, advisors for the Bachelor of Social Work(BSW) and/or Master of Social Work (MSW) programs, the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, program directors, faculty, and staff to ensure a seamless experience from the point of inquiry through advisor assignment.
