Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Considerable knowledge of fitness concepts and techniques • NCAA rules and regulations and sport-specific rules and scoring • Familiarity with recruiting techniques, high school coaches, and athletes, and student-athlete concerns • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written • Strong computer skills in a Windows-based environment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint • Ability to work with diverse populations as part of a team and collaborate with others • Demonstrated ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and supervise others • Demonstrated commitment to the academic achievement of student-athletes. General Summary: Provides leadership and oversees all aspects of the Cross Country fall and Track & Field spring programs to include coaching both teams, planning, organizing, and supervising team practices, actively identifying, evaluating, and recruiting student-athletes, and working within federal, state, and local guidelines, officedepartment division, and college policies and procedures, and the NCAA and athletic conference guidelines.
