The HIM Coordinator supports daily Health Information Management (HIM) operations by maintaining accurate, secure, and accessible medical records and responding to requests for patient information from patients, physicians, healthcare facilities, employers, attorneys, law enforcement, government agencies, third-party payers, and other authorized parties. This role ensures the confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient medical records by verifying authorization and ensuring all disclosures comply with HIPAA, applicable federal and state laws, and organizational policies and procedures.
