The Surgery RN is responsible for management of airway (O2, ET tube and suctioning techniques), chest drainage tubes, catheters (urethral, suprapubic, and 3-way irrigation), IV lines, central lines, administration of blood and blood products, and suction equipment. The OR nurse participates in Quality Improvement, Quality Control, narcotic counts, submission of daily charges and statistics, updates chart, reviews test results and understands significance.
