Performs the duties and responsibilities of an Ambulatory Surgery Staff RN in an age appropriate manner (pediatrics, adolescent, adult, geriatric) Demonstrates the ability to rapidly assess patient status upon transfer to the Recovery Room (pulse oximeter, EKG, BP, dressings, drainage, etc.) as documented. Requires the ability to effectively communicate and interact with a wide range of people, including, but not limited to patients, families, physicians, ancillary support services, office staff, and nursing units.

This hybrid role supports clinic and perioperative operations by managing the MyChart inbox, ordering imaging (including CT scans), coordinating pre-certifications, screening and scheduling patients, ensuring completion of labs and pre-operative work, retrieving outside imaging, preparing provider schedules, and assisting with Wednesday clinic visits (rooming patients and obtaining vital signs). Once licensed may apply for a controlled substance license and DEA number Privileged and credentialed through the Northwestern Medicine Medical Staff Office (MSO) Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation - BLS, issued by the American Heart Association. Acute care certification required for APRNs (inpatient experience as an NP will be considered in lieu of acute care certification) Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
