With an impressive track record spanning over 130 years in the industry, we are currently seeking a talented Professional Land Surveyor to join our team.In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing survey technicians, performing boundary, easement, deed, and title reviews, and conducting detailed research at the town, county, and state levels. You will also be responsible for evaluating surveys, field notes, maps, aerial photographs, and other materials to identify potential project constraints and determine the best approach to complete projects on time and within budget. Overview:
William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is currently hiring for a GPS Technician to support our Midwest market, mainly in Illinois. The GPS Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with field operations. The GPS Technician will work directly with Project Managers, Superintendents and Foremen to ensure project models have been setup, reviewed for accuracy and built to the specifications of the team. This position will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and tracking the company’s GPS equipment. The GPS Technician will also be responsible for Collecting field measurements and documentation. This is a traveling position, up to 75% of the time, encompassing work sites in the assigned project area and will include some overnight travel. Responsibilities:
<ul><li>As projects are assigned, determine whether it is necessary to engage an external resource to perform modeling. Research external resource options and pricing and secure resources for the project</li><li>Review third party models for accuracy</li><li>Work as liaison between model company and field as issues arise</li><li style="color:#333333;margin-bottom:0in">Install GPS equipment on machinery</li><li>Use systems to perform CAD 3D modeling for smaller projects</li><li>Load model specifications onto the equipment, as required</li><li>Troubleshoot modeling issues</li><li>Research different options/technologies in survey equipment</li><li>Maintain a system of tracking survey equipment for issuance on projects</li><li>Project site orientation and verification of control</li><li>Survey job sites and prepare calculations for materials and quantities</li><li>Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain</li><li>Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and as-built surveys</li><li>Various additional survey tasks</li></ul>

Qualifications:
