<h2>Overview</h2><p>The <strong>Technical Communicator (TC) - Spec Shop</strong> maintains high standards of service excellence by providing technical support to technicians, managers, supervisors and customers. </p><p>Working in conjunction with other TCs, the TC provides a comprehensive learning and development program for our Technician workforce that enhances knowledge, skills, and productivity. Some of the benefits of joining our team are:</p><ul><li>Competitive Pay.</li><li>Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401K, profit sharing, generous PTO and paid holidays, uniforms, and much more.</li><li>Exposure to world-class CAT training and development.</li><li>A friendly and supportive work environment.</li><li>Continuous exposure to learning and new technologies.</li><li>Opportunities for advancement.</li></ul><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Contributes to a positive work environment and promotes the vision, mission, and values of BMC.</li><li>Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.</li><li>Models and reinforces company policies/practices to ensure that work is performed in alignment with the company’s mission, vision, and values and in collaboration with other functions.</li><li>Completes all job responsibilities in a safe manner, promotes and champions a safe and healthy work environment.</li><li>Assists technicians in troubleshooting performance and operational problems on Caterpillar and Allied products.</li><li>Assists technicians with diagnostics in the field if necessary.</li><li>Uses GoToAssist to connect remotely to a technician’s computer and aid in diagnostics.</li><li>Uses Caterpillar and Allied product diagnostic software and Service Information System software effectively for diagnostic purposes.</li><li>Uses the Dealer Solution Network regularly to communicate with Cat Product Analysts/Engineers by submitting Service Request tickets to aid in diagnosing problems.</li><li>Works closely with Caterpillar on field follow machines Cat places in our territory for testing.</li><li>Trained in AFA (Applied Failure Analysis) and analyzes failed parts/components to determine the root cause of a failure.</li><li>Trained in Contamination Control and Cat qualified to perform CC Audits at our facilities.</li><li>Uses the Product Problem Management system to work closely with Caterpillar Engineers to develop better products by keeping them informed of current machine problems.</li><li>Occasionally provides specialized training and / or assists with special projects.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul><li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent. </li><li>5+ years’ experience as a heavy equipment technician.</li><li>Knowledge of CAT product Line</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple ongoing issues at once in a fast paced, high urgency job role.</li><li>Detail oriented documentation and recordkeeping abilities.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Good time management, planning and organizational skills; must be capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.</li><li>Proficient in the use of the Service Information System and Caterpillar Diagnostic software such as Electronic Technician, Service Technician Workbench, Payload Control System, etc.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is a plus.</li></ul><p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><ul><li>The physical environment requires the employee to work inside throughout the year.</li><li>Willing to travel to assist in troubleshooting, attend training & conferences, etc.</li><li>Position requires employee to be physically present at the job site location.</li><li>Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.</li><li>Seeing, reading, and writing to complete job responsibilities.</li><li>Use of computers and other forms of technology to complete job responsibilities.</li></ul>
