Ability to operate equipment to perform the essential functions of the job (i.e., fusion and mechanical splicing tools, OTDR, PON power meter, VFL, attenuation test sets, locator, handheld dispatch device, computer/laptop, telephone, company vehicle, trailers, aerial devices, and various hand and power tools, shovel and rake). · One (1) year of outside plant fiber-splicing experience, including single-fiber fusion splicing, mass fusion (ribbon) splicing on high-count fiber-optic cables (24-ribbon and above), and fiber testing and troubleshooting using OTDRs, PON power meters, and VFLs.
