Job Title: Department: Country: State/Province: City: Full/Part Time: Job Summary: Job Description: Key Responsibilities: • With guidance, perform basic preventive maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake adjustments/services/replacements, electrical diagnostics, basic structural repairs on trailer chassis, sub-frames, etc • Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yard • Operate assigned service truck in a professional manner and according to company requirements; keep unit clean and well stocked • Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures • Properly document damage to company equipment to allow subrogation of repair costs • Understand and demonstrate the basic use of a cutting torch and welding equipment; perform minor repairs on chassis, frames, brackets, etc • Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs ensuring all holes are sealed and water tight • Perform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections under supervision of a certified technician as required Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: • 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs • AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences • Possess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines • Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase program • Willingness to work outdoors in the elements • Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed Preferred Qualifications: • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with up to 1 year of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent • At least 1 year of experience in DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brakes • Welding certification • Forklift certification and experience • EPA section 608 certification and refrigeration license • Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums • Ability to manage multiple priorities • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.) • Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively • Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds) • Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE) The expected pay range for this position is $27.04 - $40.56
