The new signature building will add over 500,000 square feet to the hospital and will include the following: 3 Cardiovascular operating rooms, 2 Endovascular operating rooms, 2 General Vascular operating rooms, 6 Cardiac Catheterization labs, 3 Electrophysiology labs, 76 Intensive Care and Progressive Care inpatient rooms, 46 Pre-and Post-care rooms, 5 Trauma bays (including 1 dedicated peds bay – the only in the region), 95 Dedicated ED beds, and 40-bed ED observation unit. This network of 850+ multi-specialty physicians in over 85 specialties offers Carilion physicians’ faster access to patient information and history with a sophisticated, fully integrated electronic medical record system (EPIC) and excellent access to sub-specialty consultation.
