Lab Supervisor Patient FirstLab SupervisorChesapeake, VirginiaMonitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained and reporting any problem or concerns to the assigned Technical Consultant or designee; Ensuring that all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications and reporting any problem to the assigned Technical Consultant; Assuring that proficiency testing is performed within the appropriate time frame; Assisting Physicians, Extenders, and Nurses with patient treatment and care including locating patients, obtaining accurate vital signs by visual and auditory measures, triaging patients, assessing patients’ problems, and preparing patients for physicals and medical treatment by Physicians, Extenders, and Nurses; Handling Physician, Extender, and Nurse requests with respect and in a timely manner. Knowledge of mathematical and statistical methods sufficient to calculate and convert analytical data to test results is required; Knowledge and skill sufficient to use and maintain laboratory instrumentation; Knowledge of related disciplines to integrate and correlate test results with other laboratory data and clinical information; Must be able to produce reliable quality laboratory results under stressful conditions; Must be able to perform CPR and update certification as needed; Must be able to hear pages, bells, and phone system; Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly four to seven hours at a time); Must be able to lift moderate to heavy items (20-50 lbs.); Excellent visual, verbal, written, and typed communications required; Ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks at one time; Responsible for understanding and performing work as a Technologist/Technician as outlined in the Lab Technologist/Technician job description; Must provide the highest quality medical care and professionalism.
