Required to operate production equipment by loading, unloading, engaging and disengaging switches, levers, etc. to engage automatic, semiautomatic, or manual cycles. Performs hand operations, visually and with precision instruments, inspects products, and adjusts production processes to meet quality requirements. This role is located in Lima. OH and will be fully on-site.  Starting Pay: $23.42Schedule: 3rd ShiftPay Schedule: Weekly

Electric's safety protocols. This role is integral in fostering strong professional connections with onsite field staff, management, and external bodies throughout operational activities. Positioned within the demanding context of a heavy utility environment, the Safety Representative is crucial in prioritizing safety practices in the field.Supervisory Responsibilities: This role has no direct reports. Duties/Responsibilities:<ul><li style="line-height:normal">Conducts orientation activities such as completing and checking paperwork on new hires, validating required experience and licensure, and collecting I-9 documentation</li><li style="line-height:normal">Investigate incidents, injuries, damage to property, or other safety-related concerns. <ul><li style="line-height:normal">Completes incident reports, OSHA-required documentation, and other client reports.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Critically assesses and evaluates hazards and takes corrective actions at the moment.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Documents findings, including Root Cause Analysis</li><li style="line-height:normal">Communicate with leadership and field personnel the investigation findings and recommendations for how to prevent reoccurrences.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Verifies corrective measures have been completed (including recommendations of the safety committee, leaders, and those that arise from the suggestion programs)</li></ul></li><li style="line-height:normal">Enforces safety standards, conducts safety audits, participates in client safety meetings or conference calls; conveys information from specific clients about their specific safety requirements on a specific job site or client's work <ul><li style="line-height:normal">Coordinates with others to enforce work procedures, rules, and regulations related to safety</li><li style="line-height:normal">Communicates safety and health information at employee meetings</li><li style="line-height:normal">Posts safety communications in various locations as needed</li></ul></li><li style="line-height:normal">Establishes and maintains relationships with local safety agencies and insurance carriers to foster good communication between the company and external influences on safety</li><li style="line-height:normal">Cross-train in all facets of the Safety Division, preparing to fill in for anyone absent and grow in responsibility and scope over time. </li></ul>The person in this role will uphold the culture of J.F. EDUCATION:Required: High School diploma or GED equivalentSKILLS:Required: Lifting 50lbs, frequent climbing, frequent stooping, frequent bending, frequent lifting and frequent carrying 50lbs up ladders and onto platforms. * Promote a safe working environment.* Understands and adheres to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers* Verify daily that all resins and colorants designated for each production line is accurate with PIC sheet on each line and document on Production OEE form.* Complete daily Scrap report on computer detailing all resin, colorant usage, regrind and scrap generation.* Ensure regrind is being used on all lines maintaining proper levels at each machine. (No more than 1 excess Gaylord by any machine.)* Set up blenders, calibrate and change material formulas as necessary.* Evaluate Colorant usage and verify that colorant is not being overused - perform visual color checks on bottles.* Responsible to calculate usage and mix up color standards (LTD) per customer approved standards. Or target letdown ration designated on PIC sheet.* Transport material and scan (regrind, colorants etc.) to and from the warehouse* Perform line clearances on completed production lines, cleaning entire material system.* Responsible to make sure all used gaylords being used on the production floor have been properly defaced of the original use signage stickers.* Keep areas around the grinders, blenders, day bins clean and free of regrind, dust etc.* Communicate with operators any changes of regrind percentages. Or accumulation of excess regrind* Check cyclone dust collection bags on each line and empty and clean as necessary should not exceed 20lbs of dust.* Clean vacuum pump filters daily.* Hook up and operate railcar unloading system following all proper procedures* Responsible to make sure that NO resin is spilled on ground or around railcar area. If this does occur immediate cleanup is necessary!* Identify and weigh all material chunks per production line and dispose of in proper location.* Any duties not listed that could be assigned by the supervisor or acting supervisor for the day.
