Major responsibilities of the Clinical Veterinarian include the provision of hands-on clinical care for all animals under the care of ULAR (i.e. mice, rats, dogs, cats, sheep, pigs, aquatics, reptiles, etc.) and participates as needed with research procedural support to include research related surgical procedures. The Clinical Veterinarian is expected to provide care of laboratory animals in a safe, humane, and sanitary manner using equipment and established procedures, including safe handling of animals, materials, and equipment exposed to hazardous (biohazardous, radiological or chemical) agents.
