University City United Methodist Church (UCUMC), located in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministry (6th – 12th graders) effective immediately. This position is open to applicants with a vision and passion for teenagers to know Jesus, to seek to follow Him in their daily lives, and to serve others so they might also know Him and His love for them.The Director of Youth Ministry is responsible for maintaining accountability and providing leadership, guidance, supervision and direction for the Youth Ministry Program at UCUMC, within the guidelines of the church’s Vision and Mission Statements. Applicants should therefore possess the skills and vision needed to develop and implement programs and opportunities to better connect youth to Jesus, the church, the community, and to one another. The church is led by one senior pastor and one associate pastor, and has a membership of approximately 1,000. We offer one traditional worship service and one contemporary worship service each Sunday morning with a total average worship attendance of 400. The youth program has approximately 70 active students involved in a variety of worship, service, fellowship and spiritual growth opportunities. A team of adult volunteers helps the Director of Youth Ministry oversee these youth activities and lead youth small groups.More information about the position is provided in the job description, below.
