Operates a wide variety of construction equipment and motorized wheeled vehicles including commercial trucks and tractors over25,000 lbs. to provide utilities, general excavation, and construction maintenance support * Performs manual labor for general maintenance and landscape construction tasks, including shoveling, paving, catch basin minor repairs, cleaning, tamping, snow removal, and other duties that apply * Promptly reports unsafe conditions or damage to campus landscape/hardscape, equipment, or facilities * Subject tocall-intwenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to handle emergencies, especially snow events * Subjecttoshift changes and extended working hours (including nights, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays) to meet seasonal work demands * Subject to working in weather related extremes of heat and cold for extended periods * Maycome into contact withsewage and dead animals * Regular exposure to bees and pollen * This position is covered by the UAW Collective Bargaining Agreement * At the end of the probationary period employees willbe requiredto pay union dues per article 1 of the agreement This is an Endowed, union position within the UAW.
