WRGB/WCWN is looking for a Weekend Meteorologist to present the weather forecast for the weekend news. As our Weekend Meteorologist you are responsible for the content of the weather cast on-air and on our digital platforms. You will also be required to do some reporting and fill in on other shows as needed throughout the week. The main day to day responsibilities of the role will include… <ul><li> </li><li>Forecasting, producing and presenting clear and concise weather casts, which tell a story and connect with viewers in both markets</li><li> </li><li>Issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather events.  </li><li> </li><li>Assist in severe weather coverage as needed.</li><li> </li><li>Utilize social media during severe weather, as well as write weather stories</li><li> </li><li>Make public appearances on behalf of the station</li><li> </li><li>Pitching story ideas, developing contacts and reporting</li><li> </li></ul> What skills do you need to be successful in our role? <ul><li> </li><li>Ability to tell memorable and meaningful stories, we value visual and compelling storytelling</li><li> </li><li>Ability to demonstrate experience with active and visual live shots</li><li> </li><li>In Depth Knowledge of forecasting</li><li> </li><li>Sharp news judgement and exceptional writing skills</li><li> </li><li>Ability to multitask while meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks</li><li> </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.</li><li> </li><li>2 years experience in weather presentation and reporting preferred</li><li> </li></ul> While applying online, please include a link to your online demo reel. Responsibilities:
The Registered Professional Nurse III, Acute Care is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process. The RN assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient's needs. The RN contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork. The RN III is accountable to assure that care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statutes and state, federal law. Serves as a resource for other staff and clinicians as required. <ul><li>Provides nursing care and services to patients throughout the life span and in various settings consistent with educational preparation.</li><li>Collects, analyzes and records relevant patient health data accurately, with no more than 3-5 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation and co-worker feedback. </li><li>Analyzes assessment data to identify patient problems, with no more than 2-3 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation. </li><li>Identifies expected outcomes individualized to the patient, with no more than 2-3 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation.</li><li>Develops a plan of care that describes interventions to attain expected outcomes, with no more than 2-3 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation. </li><li>Implements and records interventions appropriate to diagnosis or patient problem, with no more than 3-5 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation. </li><li>Evaluates the patient’s progress toward attainment of identified goals, with no more than 2-3 exceptions, as measured by random supervisory chart review and/or direct supervisory observation. </li><li>Adheres to approved, research-based practice standards, with no more than 2-3 exceptions, as measured by direct supervisory observation and random supervisory chart review.</li><li>Directs and supervises patient care provided by LPNs and support personnel 100% of the time according to department guidelines, as measured by co-worker feedback and managerial observation.</li><li>Demonstrates consideration of safety, effective utilization of equipment and materials, and cost in managing patient care, as measured by direct supervisory observation and co-worker feedback. </li><li>Acts effectively as charge nurse, group leader or preceptor when assigned, as determined by co-worker or preceptee feedback and direct managerial observation.</li><li>Writes a progress note that demonstrates an understanding of the patient’s status and progress toward achievement of goals (80-90%). </li><li>Effectively precepts new staff members or students as determined by preceptee/student feedback and direct managerial observation.</li><li>Ability to function in charge nurse or leadership capacity as determined by practice arena.</li><li>Advocates for patients to ensure that care preserves and protects the patient’s autonomy, dignity and rights.</li><li>Delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity, 100% of the time, as measured by no significant, substantiated patient or peer complaints received by the manager/supervisor.</li><li>Assures that patients have informed consent signed for indicated procedures, 100% of the time, as measured by random supervisory chart review.</li><li>Acts on behalf of patients in an ethical manner 100% of the time, as measured by co-worker and patient feedback and managerial observation.</li><li>Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics for Professional Nurses.</li><li>Acquires and maintains current knowledge and skills in his or her area of practice.</li><li>Provides proof of current licensure validation to supervisor. Qualifications:
Education:<ul><li>2 year / Associate degree in Nursing, required or...</li><li>Vocational / Technical Diploma Professional Nursing Program, required or...</li><li>4 year / Bachelor's degree in Nursing, preferred</li></ul>All RN’s hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor’s prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years.
