Perform specialized welding and fabrication including but not limited to, stick welding, tig welding, mig welding, plasma, and brazing; Operate specialized welding, cutting torch, and fabrication equipment; Operate hand tools; Operate power equipment; Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment in the Sanitation Department inventory; Operate all equipment in the Department inventory; Maintain maintenance records, logs, and documentation; Maintain purchasing and inventory records and documentation; Work on multiple projects, set priorities, and allocate resources for project completion; Maintain a professional demeanor at all times; Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; Complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; Perform all duties in accordance with City policies and procedures with regard for personal safety and that of other employees and the public. Performs machinist duties, including reviewing drawings, or instructions to understand specifications; design and manufacture products using CAD/CAM software; calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers; measure and mark material for cutting; sequence necessary actions; select appropriate machines for use such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, grinders and computer numeric control (CNC) machines; design, program, monitor and modify machines output; maintain records; and perform routine maintenance and repairs to machines.
