The Fabricator/Welder will be responsible for daily installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of manufacturing systems, but especially in equipment changes or additions. This is a hands-on position requiring knowledge of mechanical systems combined with strong spatial skills and imagination of the item to build / fabricate. This role is located in Pine Hall, NC and will be fully on-site.  Starting Pay: commensurate with experienceSchedule: 1st shift Monday - FridayPay Schedule: Bi-weekly

Responsibilities:
Fabricator/WelderResponsibilities:<ul><li style="margin-left:55.5pt">Must have strong mechanical and spatial skills and knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems combined with excellent welding abilities and fundamental knowledge of all welding procedures and metallurgy.</li><li style="margin-left:55.5pt">Involved in the daily installation, maintenance, service and repair of a wide variety of manufacturing systems in accordance with sketches, and manufacturer's specifications, using various hand-, power- and welding tools as well as precision-measuring and testing instruments of the maintenance trade.</li><li style="margin-left:55.5pt">Fabricates and assembles structural metal products, such as framework or shells for machinery, ovens, tanks, stacks, and metal parts for buildings and bridges according to job order, verbal instructions, and blueprints: Develops layout and plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of trigonometry, stock allowances for thickness, machine and welding shrinkage, and physical properties of metal.</li><li style="margin-left:55.5pt">Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.</li><li style="margin-left:55.5pt">Inspects fabricated parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements and / or verifies conformance of work piece to specifications, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.</li><li style="margin-left:55.5pt">Must be able to concentrate in a busy work environment and be detail oriented in order to maintain a high level of quality and a safe working environment.</li><li style="margin-left:55.5pt">Reports time spent, parts used, settings and other job related activities in the CMMS system. </li><li style="margin-left:55.5pt">Provides feedback to planners and supervisors in order to improve routine procedures, part availability and job preparation.</li><li style="margin-left:55.5pt">Responsibilities include exemplary housekeeping and care of machinery and work areas as well as adherence to company policies and guidelines.</li><li style="margin-left:55.5pt">May be required to provide assistance in the plant involving other types of general maintenance work.</li><li style="margin-left:55.5pt">Completes repairs and projects in a safe and timely manner, ensuring that all special PPE is utilized according to company rules and policies, following job related SOP’s.</li><li style="margin-left:0.75in">Provides training and feedback to the operators and production supervisors </li><li style="margin-left:0.75in">Inspects work to assure proper installation, maintenance, and repair of buildings and equipment.</li><li style="margin-left:0.75in">Requisitions supplies, materials, tools, machine parts, and other necessary equipment.</li></ul>Fabricator/Welder Qualifications:<ul><li style="margin-left:0.75in">Vocational school training and/or substantial relevant work experience is required. Work history will be reviewed for stability where applicable and a clean criminal record is required.  Must posses the ability to read and write effectively.  Must be proficient in mathematics as it relates to mechanical engineering. </li><li style="margin-left:0.75in">Ability to maintain good working relationship with all co-workers and to use good judgment in recognizing scope of responsibilities.</li><li style="margin-left:0.75in">Must be mechanically inclined, have good problem solving skills, be able to work independently, and be able to do highly accurate work that requires concentration and physical effort.</li><li style="margin-left:0.75in">Must have basic computer skills.</li><li style="margin-left:0.75in">Must be able to perform firm grasping, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, standing, crouching, sitting, negotiating stairs, ladders, and slippery surfaces in a hot/cold (summer/winter) environment, occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.</li><li style="margin-left:0.75in">Work safely with, around, and wearing protection for cleaning chemicals, solvents, copper fumes, inks and lubricants</li><li style="margin-left:0.75in">Must be able to firmly grasp and use hammers, wrenches, and various hand tools during adjustments, repairs, and replacement / change-out operations.</li><li style="margin-left:0.75in">Must be able to distinguish colors.</li><li style="margin-left:0.75in">Must be able to wear personal protective equipment for assigned duties.</li></ul>

Position Summary The basic function of this position is to work closely with other team members to complete assigned tasks on time, under budget, and within tolerance in a manner that aligns with Procon, Inc's values and goals. This position will be a manual labor position and the abilityto follow directions is critical. This position requires the employee to provide their own personal hand tools and to wear all required PPE. The Welder will report directly to the Steel Erection Superintendent. Report any faulty or non-functioning items immediately to supervisor </li><li>Have knowledge in the safe and correct way to operate required equipment and vehicles. Summary : Welds metal component parts of various thicknesses to specified dimensions on simple jobs by performing the following duties 
 Essential Duties:<ul><li>Plans job by determining from the router and blueprints, equipment, fixtures, material and supplies needed. Plans sequence to maximize weld time.</li><li>Sets up job by retrieving equipment and materials as needed.</li><li>Loads and unloads pieces in and out of fixture (when available) manually or by using an overhead crane or hand fits parts. Positions and clamps pieces into fixture. Operates mig welding machine and may also perform arc welding procedures.</li><li>Finishes or repairs part by operating various tools such as sanders, grinders, and torches.</li><li>Performs first piece and in-process inspection by checking dimensions and quality of welds of part per blueprint using calipers, height gage, protractor, and square.</li><li>Performs routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on welding machines as required.</li></ul>
