Their high level of involvement means: Establishing avenues of communication with other adults to identify potential resources for the enhancement of CRLS athletics;
Working with community members who are involved in youth sports in order to encourage the young women and young men to continue to participate in sports at the high school level;
Developing an approach to coaching which encourages outreach to the parents of the athletes and to other adults who care about the athletes (booster clubs are one part of this outreach);
Maintaining an atmosphere of balance between the academic and athletic experiences of students and closely following each student's academic progress;
Working together with student/athletes, guidance counselors, and parents in the college application and selection process;
Contacting college coaches and introducing CRLS athletes to coaches in accordance with NCAA regulations; and. rules and regulations are known and followed by all players and coaches within the program; participate in clinics to enhance personal knowledge of his/her particular sport; help in ensuring the safety and security of athletes during practices and games and in the locker rooms, as well as enroute to games/meets; and perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics.
